Dr. Robert Matthews Dr. Matthews has a long history of improving the lives of children through the San Diego educational establishment. From his years as a teacher and principal in the San Diego Unified School District and president of the continuing education centers of the San Diego Community College District to his current role as principal of Mt. Erie Christian Academy, Dr. Matthews has invested his life in guiding children toward future success by focusing them on the pursuit of academic excellence. In addition to this, his commitment to advancement for African Americans has led him to become involved with many organizations, including the San Diego Urban League, NAACP, Black Leadership Council, and the Institute for Black Child Development. « Previous Honoree Next Honoree »
