Charles Kahalifa King

Kahalifa has served as an advocate for community enhancement and change through his work as a parent advocate for children’s education, the Center for Parent Involvement in Education, the Black Infant Health Program, and the Deaf Community Services. He has been involved in race relations and conflict resolution. He works in gang mediation and has served as a strong role model for the community. He works with residents to administer the Neighborhood Funders mini-grants program, which funds community projects in southeastern San Diego. He takes a strong stand against cultural and economic injustice and fighting for integrity.
