Jihmye Collins

Jihmye has lived in the southeastern San Diego community for more than 25 years. He is a poet and visual artist who promotes cultural pride and unity of the human family. As a public artist, he serves as an advocate for equitable distribution of funding for art projects among all San Diego communities. Through his work he challenges people to find solutions to the negative aspects of society. He is a founding member of African-American Writers and Artists, Inc. of San Diego.
